If you are a professional or a writer who is passionate about health, racial, and social equity, consider contributing to our blog! Your ideas and knowledge will be shared with our community of dedicated health equity professionals.
We are looking for individuals who can write a minimum of 3-4 blog posts/year. Posts should focus on social, structural, and/or political determinants of health, and should not be disease-specific. We also welcome stories that highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion in a variety of settings

Our blog features perspectives from Health Equity Initiative's team and members as well as guest authors. We cover cross-sectoral efforts, narratives, news, and stories of hope, healing, community engagement, and partnerships to advance health equity.
Format guidelines: Blog posts should not exceed 1,500 words (and preferably stay within 800-1000 words), and should include a royalty-free picture, image, or graphic to illustrate content. Blog posts should discuss health equity-related issues or specific social and political factors influencing health outcomes. The tone of the blog should be simple and conversational and feature specific stories if appropriate. Health Equity Initiative will not publish any blog that includes publicity (e.g., marketing language, links, brand names, etc.) of any commercial services or products. Health Equity Initiative reserves the right to edit all posts for content in consultation with the author(s) before finalizing a decision on whether to publish/post any content. The name of the author and a 50-word bio should also be included. In the case of multiple authors, combined word counts for all bios should not exceed 120 words. Each post can be authored by a maximum of three co-authors. Health Equity Initiative will include a line on the type of affiliation to our organization (only in case you are an individual member, officer, or other).
Blog Reach: The Health Equity Blog reaches 700-800 visitors per month on our website, and 15,000+ people per announcement via our newsletter and social media outreach.
